GO2WEB20 Detailed Review

Go2web20 is a web 2.0 site with links to hundreds of other web 2.0 sites. This is a very uselful tool if you have to do reviews on web 2.0 applications and sites for an information processing or internet class of some sort. When you click on a link to a site that looks interesting it brings you to a quick description of the site which I find useful because then I dont sign up for something that sounded cool at first but then just turned out to be horrible. You can choose from different kinds of web 2.0 apps at the side with tags such as Most Popular, Music, Photo, Video, E-Learning, Game, Collaboration, Design, Twitter, Blogging, Travel, Mobile, Widget, Community, Fun, Business, Money, Storage, Management, Communication, Israel etc. There are about 100 of these tags and they help you narrow your search down to pretty much exactly what you want. I like how they set it up with tags because you can even put in two tags at once, for example I could put in the Travel tag and the Blogging tag and see what kind of Travel Blogging web 2.0 sites are out there. Another handy tool is the web 2.0 toolbar you can download for free off this site. The web 2.0 toolbar gives you all your favorite web 2.0 sites in a quick and easy way to get to them and you can even search something from one or all of the sites and see what you come up with. There is even blogs on the site and you can also become a member and suggest web 2.0 apps and tags for the site. Another thing I like is when you search a word they take that word and put below it, all the sites with that word in it enabling you to search things you are interested in and having a chance that the site is about that. You can even the old version of this site if you want, which can be helpful if you were using the site before they updated it. So when your just looking for some fun web 2.0 sites or if your doing a review of web 2.0 sites for an absolutely and positively wonderful teacher whose intials may or may not be L.E. And as always I shall rate this site out of 10 and give it an 8.

Matter Meter Review

Matter Meter is a site where you can discuss what matters and doesn't matter to you. Sign-up for this site is very easy, all you have to do is give your email and a password and your ready to go. Once you do that you can also customize your account with a display picture and basic information, I like this because you can kind of show a little bit about yourself in the display picture. Next you can start to "matterize" things by clicking on random matters. Matters can vary from Kitchen Aid utensils to Bill gates, and you are asked the question, "If ____ no longer existed, would it matter?" and you can put yes or no and give your reason and your reason can be voted to the most popular answer spot. I like how you can also be recognized on this site and be followed for what matters you have made and what you have "matterized". This site lets you speak your opinion, but I got bored with it really fast. If you could add more to your account and there were other little applications like polls on there. There could be many other ways to show what matters to you and this site could have done better to show those ways. There is also not many members so alot of the stuff I care about is not on there and I have to end up making them. If I had to give it a rating out of 10, I would give it a 4.

My Definition of Web 2.0

What I see as Web 2.0 is a group of people that can visit the site and edit it all they want but under the supervision of the creator of the site. This takes pressure off the creator of the site because regularly the creator would have to update the site all the time and this way the sites followers can do that.

Roxik Pictaps Review

My first Web 2.0 application is called Roxik Pictaps. What Roxik Pictaps does is, takes a picture that you draw on the site and converts it to a 3-D image and makes it dance around the screen. The sign-up for this site is as easy as it can be because there is no sign-up, all the drawings are done anonymously, which could be a good thing or a bad thing because you may want to be recognized for your work or you may want to keep people from finding out who has been drawing the immature things on there. I think that is a positive thing because you can just get right to drawing and don't have to sign in all the time. At first I was frustrated with how you could only put a certain amount of drawing in the specified squares, but then i found out that you could expand your squares into the maximum amount you could draw. If you do this, the site will glitch a little bit though and parts of your drawing will have a mirror effect and show up on top of the orginal drawing. Another thing I like about this site is that you can watch everybody else's creations and people can watch yours because they are saved on a scroll bar at the bottom of the page. Also, you are allowed to customize all your colors which makes the drawings more realistic than it could be with just all black and white. I would like more options of things to do with the drawings, like having more drawings join in and creating how they danced, but this is a good overall site and if I were to give it a rating out of 10 I would give it a 7.
